Planted in the orchard in 2017 in memory of Alex Kirkley this is a variety discovered around 1950 in an Oxfordshire garden. A round apple streaked with crimson that merges to darker red areas it has juicy, crisp flesh with a good, mildly refreshing, tangy and sweet flavour. It matures in late August/ early September and keeps for only a few weeks.
