This tree was donated to the group and planted in about 2011 on the archway. However, this variety may well be misnamed as no such apple variety is recorded. Merryweather was a nurseryman and indeed he was instrumental in bringing the Bramley seedling to popularity. The fruit has some similarities in appearance but it is yet to be confirmed if this is a different variety or if it is indeed a Bramley Seedling. One for further sampling and consideration later this year (2021).
