EGREMONT RUSSET

Planted in the orchard in 2009 the origin of this apple is unknown but its name was first recorded in 1872 and it is thought there is some link to the estate of Lord Egremont in Sussex. It has become a very popular apple due to its sweet, rich, nutty flavour.  It is a medium round size which is heavily russeted. It matures in October and keeps until December.
