Planted as an Ecklinville this variety does not fit the published description. Ours is a dessert apple, round and slightly irregular in shape with light yellow skin and a crimson flush that deepens with maturity. It has a light sweet flavour, maturing in Mid September.
The Ecklinville apple as listed in directories was raised by a Mr Logan in Ecklinville, Portaferry, near Belfast in Northern Ireland. Described as a culinary apple with pea-green skin that turns yellow with russet dots.
